Parihug was a startup aimed at connecting loved ones separated by distance.
The premise was connecting two plushes via wifi, one could “send” a hug to the other, in the form of gentle vibration. The hypothesis was that oxytocin, the “love hormone” is stimulated via physical touch, and that the hug action, in addition to video call, would be sufficient to help maintain relationships.
To that end, we worked on all consumer touchpoints: the plush, ergonomically designed for hugging, logo, graphics, app and promotional materials.
